Here’s a little peek at the goodness that was the wedding I shot two weekends ago. I am head over heels for this wedding! For real.
But first.. their story!
“Lance and I met when we were sixteen, working as lifeguards for the summer. We both had the same shift where we would clean the pools before the park opened. He always offered to do the dirty work so I tried to partner up with him as much as I could. I quickly learned what a good person he is, and this attracted me to him even more. After that summer we became very good friends and dated on and off for the next three years. We lost touch when I went off to school in Tuscaloosa, but all of that changed when he told me that he had joined the Marine Corps. He knew he couldn’t leave without telling me how he felt, and inevitably we picked right back up where we left off. While he was gone to basic training we wrote back and forth and knew that we wanted to be together for the rest of our lives. When he visited over Thanksgiving break we planned to attend the Iron Bowl for the first time together. Before the game he surprised me and proposed, and even though Alabama lost that game it was an amazing day.”
I have known Sloan for a really long time. Like, a really long time. My family has attended her dad’s church for years.. we first met the Stofels when I was only a freshman in high school and Sloan was in middle school. Pastor Robbie married Chris and I last October, so needless to say, I was thrilled to be a part of such a special day for a family that has been so special to our family!
Sloan and Lance got married at Vintage Faith Church in Decatur, AL, where Sloan’s dad, Robbie, is the minister. The ceremony was so sweet. Her dad both walked her down the aisle and married them. Later that evening, the reception was held at the Limestone Bay Trading Company in Mooresville, AL. Her venue choices made for the most charming southern wedding!
Sloan wore the shoes that her sister Blair wore in her own wedding a few years ago.
Sloan’s veil was so beautiful. It was made from the wedding dress worn by both her grandmother and her aunt.
I loved Sloan’s mom, Jill’s reaction when she saw all the girls dressed and ready!
Sloan’s sister, Blair was her maid of honor. Just a few years ago, Blair was married in the church too. Now she has a beautiful baby girl!
Sloan also wore her Grandmother’s earrings
We had the most amazing light in the church! I love the way the light from the stained glass is hitting them.
Sloan had the sweetest, most beautiful bridesmaids!
Sloan was stunning in her Swarovski crystal and lace embellished taffeta gown!
Yay! They’re married! And they had the sweetest southern wedding you every did see… Be sure to check back for Part II!!
