Kate & Brad and their guests came down from Georgia for what was from start to finish, a fun, beautiful & romantic affair.  Florals by the Sea always sets the perfect mood & creates a stunning backdrop for nuptials, and they decked out Cabana Blue in soft pink & yellow flowers, beachy driftwood & starfish, & romantic lanterns & candles for Kate & Brad’s “I do’s.”  Though mother nature threatened us all day with rain, she held off and the weather was perfect for their garden wedding & waterfront reception.  My favorite part of the ceremony?  “You may now update your status” just before their big kiss!

Kate was stunning in her lace Vera Wang dress & gold rhinestone Gianni Binis, and I loved, loved, loved the yellow, beer-drinking crab ties that Brad picked out for all of the guys to sport with their vests!  SO fun.  This day was truly unique to them in every little detail.

Their ceremony took place at Grayton Beach State Park with a Reception to follow at the Villa Rosa House in Santa Rosa Beach.  Their coordinator Ansley, along with Hemsitch Vintage Rentals & Bella Flora really made Pam’s romantic garden vision come to life with farmhouse style tables, mismatched china, silver ware, lanterns, vases & chairs, elegant chandeliers, colorful florals and so.much.pretty I could hardly stand it.

Registration for the next Basics of Digital Photography workshop, taking place on Sunday, June 30th is open TODAY!  Half the seats have been filled by early-bird registers (those subscribed to my newsletter!) but I still have a handful of seats open!

What’s included?
The workshop includes instructional teaching, a goody bag, a notebook & take-home notes + practical guide & practice projects, snacks & a light dinner, hands-on shooting & instruction + plenty of Q&A time.  And hopefully a few new friends :)  Everyone in attendance will also be added to the workshop Facebook group so that we can all connect afterwards, share images, ask questions & network!

Where will it take place?
The workshop will be taking place in Navarre, Florida.  The instructional portion of the day will take place in my cozy little living room, so everyone can learn in a comfy environment and get to know each other.  For the hands-on portion of the day, we’ll head out to the beach (an 8 minute drive).

What can I expect the workshop to be like?
We’ll start the day by mingling a little and then get settled in & ready to learn.  We’ll move on to the educational part of the day, where you’ll learn about your camera and the basics of shooting in manual mode.  You’ll see examples of photos taken in my every day life (NOT in my business) and learn how to creatively document your own life.  We’ll talk about camera settings, lighting & composition as well as caring for your camera & equipment.  Then, we’ll have a light dinner with Q&A time.  We’ll then head over to the beach for the hands-on teaching portion of the workshop, where you’ll photograph our “model” family as a group and put into practice the skills you’ve learned in an environment where you can ask questions & get coaching.  Finally, we’ll finish out the evening with another Q&A session & a few fun prize giveaways!!

Are there any limiting requirements?
This workshop is geared at all skill levels.  The only requirements are that you own a dSLR camera & at least one lens.

How do I sign up?
You can register to attend the workshop by emailing me (hi@photographybyashleyvictoria.com) & completing your payment of $115.  After emailing me, you’ll receive a link to submit your non-refundable workshop fee.
Workshop will be limited to 10 participants and spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

What do I need to bring?
A positive attitude, excitement to learn, & your camera!

Whether you’re new to shooting with a dSLR or you’ve been at it a while, but just want to brush up on your skills in shooting in Manual Mode, learn some new tricks and make some new friends, come on out for a fun & instructional day of shooting & learning :)

Mom & dad drove down from Alabama to spend the weekend with me and we had a great time working in the yard & getting some sun, playing with the dogs, shopping in Destin, walking the beach & taking photos, and the best part: FONDU!!  Melting Pot for my birthday dinner!  On Saturday I had cake with breakfast, lunch and dinner and on Sunday I had keylime pie for breakfast and a 4-course fondu feast for dinner.  Perfection.  I take my birthday food seriously.  The only way the weekend could’ve been better is if husby was here to share it too.

And because we had so much fun, here are some photos I took of my parents on the beach Sunday!  We completely missed sunset because we were too busy scarfing fondu, but we still had a good time :)
